When you pin on Pinterest, your images can post directly to your personal Facebook page if you set it up in your profile settings on Pinterest. However, it doesn’t post to your Facebook Fan Page yet.

Even though you can’t connect Pinterest pins to hit your Facebook timelines as a post, there is a way to integrate your Pinterest pins on a Facebook application to help grow your Pinterest following.

If you are looking to grow your business using Pinterest, please know that you do not have to start from scratch.  There are multiple ways to grow your Pinterest following by using Facebook:

2. Share your Pinterest account on your personal page and your Facebook fan page.  This is one of the fastest ways to gain followers on Pinterest.  All you need to do is grab the link and post a call to action by asking people to follow you.

3. Promote specific boards.  This will not only show you are active on Pinterest, but the board title may peak some interest.  I posted a board link for “Social Media Marketing Strategies” and I immediately had  new followers.

4. Promote a particular pin.  Sometimes one of the best ways to serve your fans on Facebook is promote a specific pin.  This way you can highlight the value you are offering.  This works well when you are promoting your original content.

When you pin your personal content, then you are offering something that no one else is offering. This helps you to stand out in the crowd.  You can post by inserting the actual pin link into the status section on your Facebook post or you can upload the picture and place the link in the status with a call to action.  The main difference is the picture is larger and may capture your fans attention when you upload it to Facebook.

5. Communicate any promotions or free giveaways.  Contests and promotions are a great way to capture your fans attention.  Who doesn’t want to win something?  Every one likes a chance to win a prize.  These are very effective in gaining followers quickly and it can drive a lot of traffic to your site.

Hopefully you found these five ways helpful to start building your Pinterest following through Facebook.  Even though Facebook is still the largest social media community there is still a lot of hype and potential to grow your business with Pinterest.  It seems that Pinterest is wanting to get in the game and compete with the other social networks and they are creating a great platform and foundation to grow your business online.
